Prayer Ideas

The most powerful prayers we can pray come straight from God’s Word – take scriptures and write them on your puzzle pieces – and pray them.

Take your puzzle pieces and write the names of people in your lives as you pray for them.

Take your puzzle pieces and write the names of needs in your lives as you pray for them.

Use the below model of the Lord’s prayer, by writing each section on your puzzle pieces, and pray them.

1…PRAISE (Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name) – take a few minutes worshiping God – going through his names (Shepherd, Provider, Healer, Peace, Defender…and more).

2…PRAY FOR GOD’S WILL (Your kingdom come, your will be done) – this is all about aligning your agenda with God’s agenda.

3…ASK GOD FOR YOUR NEEDS (Give us today our daily bread) – bring your needs before God.

4…SEEK FORGIVENESS (Forgive us, as we forgive others) – forgive others, as you ask God to also forgive you.

5…ASK FOR DELIVERANCE (Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one) – pray for guidance and protection from evil and temptation.

6…PRAISE AGAIN (Yours is the Kingdom, Power and Glory) – start with praise and worship, and end with praise and worship.

7…AMEN – let it be done!

Use the below model of the Tabernacle, by writing each section on your puzzle pieces, and pray them.

1…THE OUTER COURT – thanksgiving and praise – always start with being thankful.

2…THE BRAZEN ALTER – the cross of Jesus – in the Old Testament, they had to bring an animal sacrifice to the brazen alter, but we have the cross of Jesus.

3…THE LAVER – cleansing – the next step in the Tabernacle was the laver, where people would wash themselves. In the same way, we offer our bodies to God, as a living sacrifice. Give God your mind, eyes, ears, mouth, hands and feet.

4…THE CANDLESTICK – the Holy Spirit – the fire of the seven-branched candlestick represents the Holy Spirit – who we need for our everyday lives.

5…THE TABLE OF SHOWBREAD – the Word of God – the next piece of furniture in the Tabernacle was a table with bread, which represents the Word of God. Here, we spend time in God’s Word.

6…THE ALTER OF INCENSE – Worship – a small alter of burning incense stood at the entrance to the Holy of Holies, where people would worship the names of God (God is our Shepherd, Provider, Healer, Peace, Defender…and more).

7…THE ARK OF THE COVENANT – Intercession – finally, we pray for others.

Hey!

THE PRAYER PUZZLE – chalkboard pieces of wood that form a shape, like a HOUSE, a CROSS or a CHRISTMAS TREE. Write a prayer need on each piece of wood, or maybe just someone you’re praying for – as you put the puzzle together, YOU PRAY. Created by a dad of three kids who understands the power of prayer, because the Bible says that everyone who prays can be powerful and effective…and this includes kids.

THE PRAYER PUZZLE – a fun way to encourage kids to pray.
